There are some fans that speculate that Sif, Erik and Maria Borne are clones as the three of them havebeen kicked out of the women's division of the X-Men. Sif because she isn't a mutant. Erik because he isn't American. Maria Borne because Missouri was the name of the state the first X-Men was created in. It is a reference to the cloning of Sif in the Marvel Comics Universe. Sonja Bogen could also be an amalgam of Harald and Maria. Take this with a grain of salt though.
Colossus went to a military base after his recruitment and was training in combat when infra-red laser beams hit his head. This pinpointed him as an enemy and was tracked down by the base's general. Colossus was then bound to a chair and the general felt he was not worth the cost of trying to capture him. The General killed himself by setting off a grenade which blew up the bridge, thus killing those on it and all with it. The only survivor was a teenage girl named Betsy McCay. Colossus told her he couldn't rescue her because he was a mutant, but she could travel with him. They were captured by the X-Men, but the group agreed that she could not remain in the country without a good purpose. Colossus, however, thought she could help him in hunting down the X-Men's enemies. They entered the site of the General's death and were being chased by the psychic Separata when they saw the Army's General attempting to kidnap a young girl. He hadn't realized that Colossus was there and the mere idea of shooting a mutant made him into a hemorrhaging wreck. Betsy made him change his mind and gave him the information that he was actually after. Afterward, a mutant psychic named Dazzler was captured and taken to the General's headquarters for study. It is then that a psychic named M-Day took over Betsy and used the psychic abilities of the X-Men to try to stop the mutant gene flow and eliminate mutants. Betsy was able to sense that M-Day was killing mutants and became disfigured, but not before an X-Man named Dazzler helped to save the day, but Betsy faded away in the process. d2c66b5586
